1840Conversion of Schäfer’s estate into its present form.
15 May to the end of July 1846Richard Wagner's holiday stay with his wife Minna. First draft of the music of "Lohengrin".
September 8, 1881Wagner visits Graupa with his second wife Cosima and their children Eva and Siegfried.
1894Attachment of the Lohengrin memorial plaque by Prof. Adolph Kietz.
December 31, 1899The last shepherd farmer gives up the estate.
1903Carl August Edmund Syhre had Wagner verses attached to the gate pillars at the entrance to the estate.
July 22, 1907Opening of the Lohengrin House by Prof. Dr. Max Gassmeyer.
August 1907Founding of the Association for the Preservation of the Lohengrinhaus. Prof. Gustav Kietz becomes an honorary member.
1917Temporary end of the exhibition due to change of house owner.
1933Inauguration of the Wagner monument by Prof. Richard Guhr in the Liebethal gorge and the Wagner stele at Graupa’s swan pond.
June 10, 1935Prof. Gassmeyer dies in Leipzig. He is buried in Graupa.
August 25, 1935Reopening of the Lohengrin House as Richard Wagner Museum.
May 1945Soviet headquarters for a few weeks. Rescue of large parts of the Wagner collection by the Graupa local researcher Emil Pfanne and other Graupa residents.
1945-1960sThe house was used as local administration, registry office, school and kindergarten.
July 20, 1952Reopening with one, and later also a second, Wagner memorial room on the first floor.
May 23, 1963Richard Wagner honor on the occasion of his 150th birthday (courtyard).
1975Beginning of the restoration work under the direction of the Institute for the Preservation of Monuments in Dresden and the participation of the citizens of Graupa.
1979Opening of the former barn as a concert and exhibition space.
August 15, 1982Reopening with the the permanent exhibition "Richard Wagner and Dresden" designed by Dr. Jörg Heyne.
Februay 13, 1983Opening of the "Röckel Room" on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Wagner's death.
April 23, 1988Festive program on the occasion of Wagner's 175th birthday.
December 12, 1993Founding of the Gassmeyer Support Association of the Richard Wagner Museum Graupa e. V
1996Year of events celebrating the 150th anniversary of Wagner's stay in Graupa.
1997Honoring of the museum founder Prof. Dr. Gaßmeyer.
