Family foundation – Ernst Edler von Schuch

Ernst Edler von SchuchOn October 5, 2011, a ceremonial event at the festival hall of the Dresden Landhaus established the “Family Foundation Ernst Edler von Schuch.” Founding members were descendants of Ernst and Clementine von Schuch, including the three granddaughters (Brigitte Bela from Bonn, Clementine von Schuch from Berlin and Sabine Lämmel from Saarbrücken).

The foundation was initiated by granddaughter Brigitte Bela, who wished to establish a secure and professional home for the Ernst and Clementine von Schuch collection of estate objects.

A large number of objects still owned by the descendants document the achievements of Ernst von Schuch and his family. The foundation founders decided in 2011 to make parts of the collection permanently available to the public in order that the memory of Ernst von Schuch’s life work may be maintained for future generations.

This collection provides the basis for the family foundation and was gifted to the Dresden Civic Museum. It has since been expanded through further foundation gifts.
